Andaman Surgery offers Extended Hours early morning GP and nurse appointments and evening GP call-backs. We have recently changed our clinical system to offer a more integrated, safer service for patients. You will need to re-register for online access the quickest way to do this, including ID verification, is via the NHS app. or bring photo. ID with you and ask at Reception.

The surgery will be closed on bank holiday Monday 26th August. During that time please phone 111 for medical help and dial 999 in case of an medical emergency. If you need a prescription before the bank holiday week-end please ensure you leave at least 3 working days to fulfil repeat precsription requests. Medications not on repeat will take longer.

Clinical system change affecting online services from 24th July 2019

Dear patients, we will be changing clinical system from Emis Web to SystmOne at the end of July/beginning of August. This will make patient care more safe as other practices in the local Primary Care Networks (such as those offering Improved Access patients to all Waveney patients) district nursing and child health use the same system and can see mutual patients' history without the need for asking another provider for the information they hold which may cause delays. It means patients should not have to explain the same thing to the various NHS health and care providers looking after them.  However in the short-term there will be some frustrations, for example online services (booking appointments, viewing elements of your medical record, ordering repeat prescriptions) will not be availble from 24th July to 8th August and patients will have to re-register to use these services. Please re-register either at Reception with photo identification, or via the new NHS application for smart phones which includes ID verification (download free from the App Store for Apple phones and from Google Play for android phones). Patients may use the NHS app. from the age of 13.  Prescriptions will not be sent electronically to pharmacies from the end of July to mid August, they will have be printed off in the surgery. You may find appointments take a bit longer to book with Reception and that consultations with the doctors and nurses take longer from 8th August as clinicians and support staff get used to the new system. We apologise for any incovenience this causes and hope you will bear with us. Many thanks.

Extended Hours appointments available at Andaman Surgery from 1st July 2019

For Extended Access provision from 1st July all Lowestoft practices have agreed to provide appointments for their own patients which we hope will be well used.

Bearing in mind week-end appointments are available for Andaman patients close by at Rosedale, the provision for extended hours at Andaman Surgery will be a mixture of pre-bookable early morning and late evening appointments as follows:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday - 7.30am -8.00am 2 appointments with a GP and 2 appointments with a nurse/nurse practitioner or healthcare assistant. Most of these will be bookable online.

Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday (alternating Tues & Wed) - 6.30pm - 7.00pm 2 pre-bookable telephone consultations with a GP (these will be bookable via Reception rather than online in case the problem is not suitable for a telephone call).

The Extended Access appointments for July are already on the system for booking via Reception (and some bookable online as noted above). We may need to change the pattern of these appointments when staff are on leave but will try to keep to the pattern as closely as possible. Thank-you.

Improved Access appointments available Sundays at Rosedale Surgery - book through Andaman Reception

Some additional appointments with clinicians will be available for Andaman patients to book on a Sunday at Rosedale Surgery, Ashburnham Way, Lowestoft NR33 8LG under the NHS Improved Access to Primary Care appointments scheme. To book these please ask at Reception and please be patient as the access to the booking software for Improved Access appointments is not speedy. You will need to consent to sharing your information with the clinician at the other surgery to view your medical records to use this service.
